So while i've been away from this, I've been spending some quality time with my BFF Sierra! I went to her house Friday following a youth group barn party. The party was great! Thank goodness for the warm cider, cause I was freezing, especially on the hay ride ;) We played some tug of war as well, but I couldn't play because of my sliced fingers ;( It was torture really.
I worked Friday at the butcher shop and sliced my finger really badly with the large knife I was using. Thankfully I didn't have to get stitches, but it has kept me from playing certain games and from practicing my banjo ;(
My poor fingers... It doesn't look too bad, but i sure had enough band aids ;) My thumb is also nicked up, but you can't see it in this picture:
Anyway, so for the hayride we took two wagons and headed down the road and made a large loop around the countryside. It was awesome!!! But sooo cold! My one friend and I got a pillow and blanket and curled up in the straw the second time we went. I think I coulda fell asleep there :)
Sorry for the bad quality. My one friend took it on his phone ;)
The party ended around 10:30pm, so Sierra and I went home and just crashed in her room. We stayed up until almost 1am talking ;) I used to be able to pull all nighters, but something happened... I just get so tired.
Her adorable little dog came to cuddle with me while I was waiting for her to finish her shower. I love this little thing! He's so sweet!
So, Saturday morning she had a soccer game, so I went along to watch. There were three different age groups playing, so I wasn't bored at all ;)
When we were leaving, I was crossing the stone parking lot and I was nearly run over by a cute guy in a convertable ;) Perhaps I should have been excited, but I was actually a little freaked out and I ran the rest of the way to avoid being run into. I know I'm exaggerating a bit, but he was spinning out, and I really wanted to get out of his way...though part of me wanted to stand right on front of him and tell him what I thought of his attempted "showoff". But I didn't...
Once we got home, we decided to take a walk to the farmer's stand down from her house and but some apples. We weren't allowed to walk along the main road, so we had to cut across the back of the farmer's property. We were a little freaked out about being found, and we got a really bad giggle fit when we were walking through the tomato patch trying not to slip on rotten tomatoes. Hehe! Its a miracle no one heard us. then we came across a "Beware of Dog" sign. I decided then and there that we were just going to hurry home no matter who saw us. I wasn't about to be attacked by a dog!
Some mud we found during our walk...
naturally, i had to step in it ;)
Playing Imagine Iff...
Being silly after showers... ;)
Sunday morning we realized we had matching shoes just in different colors, so we decided to get a picture.
Anyway, i had a great time! Thank God for best friends!
Clumsy Brianna (tisk, tisk)
ReplyDeleteEver notice how everything seems commonplace once explained? It's called hindsight bias (also known as the i-knew-it-all-along effect). Therefore, after learning about your predicament I was inclined to believe that your accident was inevitable. Unfortunately, as science has shown, we humans aren't good at predicting the future. In this world of many possible worlds, there is an unlimited amount of possibilities. This means that it is quite possible that your accident was the result of clumsiness. According to Webster's Dictionary, clumsy is defined as, "awkward in movement or in handling things" and "done awkwardly or without skill or elegance". It is also quite possible that you may have not been aware of your clumsiness.
ReplyDeleteIn an effort to be totally unnecessary, yes, I am referring to you cutting yourself.
Okay then... thank you for clarifying that with a totally unnecessarily long comment. I don't think I even need to bother guessing who you are, since I am fairly sure based on your above comment.
DeleteI have to agree with you that I do have lack of experience, but I still will argue that this incident was not a result of clumsiness, but rather a pure and simple accident. I am very aware of the fact that I am clumsy sometimes, but I am very capable of being careful when the need arises.
Thanks for indulging my weird sense of humor. Although I was really hoping you'd call me a pretentious jerk :)
DeleteHad we been having this conversation in person, I very well may have ;)
DeleteWho are you anyway???
I believe I already have a very good idea, but I want to be sure ;)
DeleteMy name's Raphael, and to my knowledge you and I have never met.
DeleteHmmm.. you're awfully bold for having never met me and thus having no idea who I am. That is, if you are indeed Raphael and not someone I know hiding under an anonymous name. Which I think you very well may be...forgive me if I'm wrong.
DeleteBold? There is nothing bold about commenting on a blog regardless of how much I may or may not know about you. Seriously, it takes next to no effort. Despite not knowing much about you, I have seen glimpses of your personality exhibited on this blog. So that should count for something.
Deleteyou're bold for calling me clumsy... I wouldn't have done that to someone I've never met.
DeleteAnd as for my personality, tell me, what do you think I'm like judging from this blog? And btw, how did you find my blog???
First off, I was joking when I called you clumsy. And my subsequent comment was also a joke. However, I don't consider "clumsy" to be an offensive remark or even a harsh criticism. Therefore I use the term a little more freely. Second off, calling someone clumsy over the internet is entirely different from calling someone clumsy in real life. If I were to meet you face to face and I called you clumsy without having any prior knowledge about you then maybe that could be considered bold. What I'm trying to say is that I probably wouldn't call someone I don't know clumsy in real life.
DeleteJudging from this blog I'd say you're an extrovert. Talkative, outgoing, marked by energetic behavior. You find very little pleasure in being alone and rely on other people for gratification. As a result, when you're by yourself you are more prone to boredom. You strike me as a very expressive / artsy-fartsy kind of person. My last assessment of your personality is that you're a little bit self-centered / narcissistic.
I found your blog while perusing Tangerine-Tane's blog. I noticed one of your comments and clicked on your name.
Wow...okay then. You've got my personality pinned down. Unfortunately everything you said is right...including me being rather narcissistic. Sigh... its a fault of mine, i know. Ever since I was little I've loved to look at myself in the mirror.(still do ;)
DeleteI'm really impressed at how accurate you were with my personality. Almost like you knew me from before...
'But anyway, maybe I'm wrong. I like meeting new people, so welcome to my little corner of the world ;) I'd feel better about you if you'd follow my blog...;)
so now you won't talk to me...?
DeleteSo in your mind if someone doesn't respond to one of your comments you immediately assume they're ignoring you? At the risk of sounding self-righteous I abstained from writing a comment in order to appreciate your compliment. I also felt like I didn't need to write another comment since I complied with your request.
DeleteWell I just thought maybe you were going to comment for a while to make me curious about you, then leave, and that upset me. My apologies. I saw in your profile that you live on a small farm near Red Lion. I do too, so I'm curious where you're located ;)
DeleteI hate to disappoint you but I'm not really in the habit of giving out my address to people I don't know. I mean you seem very nice and all and I'm sure you're a good person.
DeleteOh, I'm sorry. I totally understand. I wasn't really fishing for an address so much as a general area. Just to see if I may have possibly met up with you unknowingly at some point.
DeleteSince I have no clue who you are, would you object to me asking you a few simple questions?
Wait a minute. By any chance did you use to work at D & K? Cause I remember this girl who used to work there and she was really short, probably 5'2". She looks exactly like your profile picture.
DeleteAsk away, but depending on what the question is I may choose to decline.
Yes, I quit working at D+K about 4 months ago. That's really freaky that you've seen me before when you just said earlier that you and I have never met as far as you know. Obviously we have at least seen eachother.
DeleteAs for my questions, I just mainly wanted to know a bit more about you. Where you work, if you go to church anywhere, stuff like that.... do you object?
I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. What I meant earlier was to my knowledge you and I have never met 'formally'. I recognized your face but I couldn't place where, I figured I'd wait to tell you once I remembered.
DeleteI work for a construction company in Dover and I attend East Side Bible Church in Wrightsville. Feel free to ask more questions if you'd like.
Oh, Okay. how old are you?
DeleteI'm eighteen. My dad is a contractor and he's the one who helped me get my job. He taught me everything I know.
DeleteWell that's really cool!
DeleteHellooo? Are you still alive???
DeleteI'm still here. Is there more you want to know about me?
DeleteI have a couple of questions for you. What church do you go to? What kind of music do you listen to? Any favorite bands? Do you have any hobbies?
Well, sure, I’ll answer your questions :)
DeleteI go to Calvary Bible Church outside of Wrightsville, right near Craley. Judging from where you said you go, it looks like we’re pretty close.
As for music, I listen to Christian Contemporary, Chr. rock, Chr. pop, anything pretty much...I just hate rap, so I’m not a huge fan of Toby Mac, if you know who he is. I also like country gospel and bluegrass.
My favorite band... this is hard cause I like a huge variety of artists and bands, but my favorite is probably PFR. They’re not together anymore, but I have totally fallen in love with their music. I’ll post one of my favorite songs of theirs so you can hear it ;)
And hobbies...hmm. There’s lots of these too. I like sports (some). tennis...ultimate frisbee...hiking...playing my banjo...singing...fishing...riding (horses and 4-wheelers)... I think I covered most of them ;)
Did I answer all your questions???
Thanks for obliging my request. You seem like a very interesting person.
DeleteBased on your hobbies I'd conclude that you're an outdoorsy kind of person. Would it be correct to assume that? Most girls I know could really careless. All they wanna do is play with their phones and go shopping. Not that there's anything wrong with shopping but they seem to take it to the extreme. For me the outdoors is like an escape from reality. Hunting is definitely my favorite outdoor activity. All I need is my 12 gauge and a buck knife and I'm good to go.
As far as music goes, I'm surprised. I listen to a lot of Christian music and never have I once heard of PFR. After listening to the song you posted I googled PFR and listened to more of their songs. I gotta say, I'm impressed. I'm glad you mentioned them.
Thanks again for answering my questions.
That would be correct ;)
DeleteI'm not into hunting, but I want to gut a deer really badly ;D I'm definately not the mall type and I don't have a phone, so that's out of the question.
And I'm glad you liked PFR.
So is your church near mne?
Gutting a deer is only half of the fun :) It's nice to know that you're not a conformist. In response to your question, yes. The church I attend is not too terribly far from yours. It's located on Adams Road. To give you a better idea: drive straight through the square of East Prospect coming from the direction of Calvary, make a left onto Main Street and follow that road all the way until you reach Adams Road then make a right. Main Street will turn into several different roads but just keep straight. Hope that helps.
Deleteoh, okay. Cool. do you have a youth group???
DeleteYep.
DeleteIs it big?
DeleteWhat am I saying? No we don't have a youth group. Sorry, I was having a brain-fart.
DeleteOh. You should come to mine
DeleteWhat day and time?
DeleteWednesday nights. Starts at 7pm and usually goes to 8:30. We mee upstairs in our gymnasium.
Delete*meet
DeleteBut there isn't any youth group this week.
DeleteBtw,do you have any sisters?
Sorry for not responding right away. It's been pretty crazy around my house. My dad flew out to Illinois a couple of weeks ago and is helping with the rebuilding effort after the tornado. I've been working double duty around the farm and juggling my job. And of course the holidays bring its own share of work to be done. Unfortunately I don't know if I'd be able to attend your youth group. Like I said my schedule gets pretty hectic. If I happen to be free on a given night of youth group I will definitely drop by. And to answer your question yes I do have sisters. Natalie and Kristen. Natalie is 16 and Kristen is 11.
DeleteGreat! Bring your sisters too!
DeleteWell... your older sister ;) If you can, I'd like to meet her
DeleteHello????
DeleteLooks like you had loads of fun. :) Cool pictures, Brianna.
ReplyDeleteTane ♥
I did! And thanks!
